FIRE + WILD offer nomadic wood-fired catering for a range of gatherings, including private celebrations, weddings and hosted events, with care and attention given to the wider experience as well as the food. The approach is collaborative and considered, shaped around timing, flow and the nature of the occasion.


We offer a limited number of projects each season, allowing time and focus for each one.

 
 
 

FOOD OVER FIRE

Cooking with fire builds anticipation and creates a sense of occasion. The process is visible, shaped by heat, smoke and season, with the fire acting as a natural focal point for guests. Nothing is hidden behind the scenes.

We use traditional techniques to create dishes with depth and character, relying on patience, experience and a deep respect for the process and ritual of open fire cooking. We serve hyper-seasonal dishes using wild fish, game and foraged ingredients, alongside farmed meat and local produce.

Open fire catering can be shaped to suit a wide range of events, from large outdoor weddings to smaller private or corporate gatherings. For larger groups, this often means rustic sharing platters, whole animals cooked asador-style around fire, vegetables roasting in the coals - served to long tables for 100+ guests.

Some events call for a more structured format - a plated tasting menu experience with paired wines, served to guests over a few hours. Menus are designed to suit the scale and the nature of the occasion, taking season and setting into account.


 
 

Enquiries usually begin with a short conversation to understand the occasion, guest numbers and setting. From there, we outline a suitable format, menu approach and indicative costs before moving into detailed planning.

Open fire catering involves significant preparation, equipment and on-site time for our team. For that reason, our pricing reflects the scale and complexity of the offering. As a guide, private and corporate events typically start from £4,000–£6,000, with larger or more involved gatherings priced accordingly.

For most weddings and larger events, we provide the core team, typically 4 - 5 chefs focused on cooking over the fire. Front-of-house service, table service, and drinks are handled by a catering company appointed by the client, working in collaboration with us. Think of us as guest chefs, supported by a wider service team.

  • Yes. That’s certainly an option. We design each menu to suit the event or occasion and the brief from our client

  • How does the planning process work?
    Support can range from designing the food experience and menu format to advising on event structure and, in some cases, researching or proposing suitable outdoor locations. Where more involved planning or research is required, this is handled under an agreed consultancy fee before progressing further.

  • In some cases, yes. Where a project requires more detailed planning, research, or venue sourcing, this work is covered by an initial consultancy fee, agreed in advance. This allows us to spend proper time developing ideas and options before moving into delivery.

  • Yes. We’re happy to work in a consultancy role - advising on food direction, equipment and fire setup, or overall approach - without necessarily delivering the full event. This works well where clients or planners already have teams in place.

  • Item dFor most weddings and larger events, FIRE + WILD provides the core open fire cooking team, typically four to five chefs. Front-of-house service, table service, and drinks are handled by a catering company appointed by the client, working in collaboration with us.

  • Early conversations are helpful, particularly for events involving outdoor cooking or non-traditional locations. That said, we also take on well-structured briefs where planning is already underway.

  • No. We work at a limited scale and take on a small number of projects each season. All enquiries are considered, but we prioritise those that feel like a good fit in terms of setting, approach, and collaboration.

  • No. Open fire catering is service-led and delivery-focused. Our immersive dining experiences and brand projects are designed and hosted separately.
