COOKING WITH FIRE - CHESHIRE - 30/05/26

£275.00

A full day of cooking over fire, set in our outdoor forest kitchen as late spring moves into early summer.

The experience begins with a guided foraging walk and introduction to the landscape, before moving into game preparation and a fire skills session. Guests will then work through a series of dishes cooked over wood and charcoal, using seasonal ingredients such as trout, wild boar and morel mushrooms, sourced from the surrounding land and nearby producers. Elevate your campfire cooking with simple tools, traditional techniques and a few useful tricks.

During the day we break down a number of signature FIRE + WILD dishes, cooking them alongside our guests as we demonstrate and explore traditional open-fire techniques used in our off-grid kitchen.

The day finishes with a shared meal, designed and curated by Mark, bringing together everything prepared over the course of the day. Food is cooked entirely over fire and served as a generous, communal feast, accompanied by thoughtfully paired wines and wild cocktails.

Spend time with wild food, fire and traditional skills in a beautiful outdoor setting. This event takes place in a private woodland near Altrincham, Cheshire — around 20 minutes from Manchester. Further details and FAQs can be found below.

The day begins with a foraging walk through the surrounding woodland where we’ll introduce you to some of the edible fungi, wild herbs, fruits and berries around our site to gather ingredients for the day ahead, before a simple fire-cooked lunch.

We’ll teach you the basics - wood selection, axe skills and temperature control - and how to manage and maintain a fire for cooking. Learn how to prepare game birds, fish or locally harvested wild meat ready for cooking over the fire.

The event starts at 11am and finishes at 4pm. Participants will need to make their own way to the meeting point (car park). Free onsite parking is provided. The full address and travel advice will be provided after booking. Not suitable for under 18s.
