COOKING WITH FIRE - KENT - 10/10/26

COOKING WITH FIRE - KENT - 10/10/26

£275.00

As autumn settles across the Kent countryside and the game season begins, join us for a day of outdoor cooking at a secluded old railway cutting near Canterbury.

Set within a private woodland site, this hands-on experience explores the fundamentals of cooking with fire through seasonal ingredients, traditional techniques and a guided foraging walk. Working together throughout the day, we’ll prepare a series of dishes over wood and charcoal while learning how to build and manage fire, cook confidently over live flame and make the most of simple tools.

From preparing meat, fish and vegetables to cooking over embers, cast iron and open flame, you’ll gain practical skills that can be recreated at home or on your own outdoor adventures.

The day includes a generous shared feast, bringing together everything we’ve prepared over the fire, accompanied by carefully selected wines, seasonal cocktails and refreshments.

Whether you’re completely new to cooking outdoors or looking to develop your skills, this is an opportunity to spend a day immersed in nature, learning around the fire and enjoying some of our signature dishes in one of FIRE + WILD’s newest locations.

Spend time with wild food, fire and traditional skills in a beautiful outdoor setting. This event takes place at a private site near Canterbury, Kent - around 40 mins drive from Margate and 1.5 hours drive from London. Further details and FAQs can be found below. Full directions and arrival information will be sent to guests after booking.

The day begins with a foraging walk through the surrounding woodland where we’ll introduce you to some of the edible fungi, wild herbs, fruits and berries around our site to gather ingredients for the day ahead, before a simple fire-cooked lunch.

We’ll teach you the basics - wood selection, axe skills and temperature control - and how to manage and maintain a fire for cooking. Learn how to prepare game birds, fish or locally harvested wild meat ready for cooking over the fire.

The event starts at 11am and finishes at 4pm. Participants will need to make their own way to the meeting point. Free onsite parking will be available. The full address and travel advice will be provided after booking. Not suitable for under 18s.
