Join us on Saturday 10th August for a fire-cooked feast on a secret river bank in Kent, just outside Tunbridge Wells. We’ll spend the afternoon foraging amongst the 300 acres of fields, forests and meadows before a short walk along the river where the dining experience will take place. For an additional charge we will be offering bed and breakfast glamping accommodation in private bell tents dotted around the site. Evening drinks and a breakfast hamper will be included.
Onsite parking will be provided for those making the journey by car. The nearest train station is Ashurst, Kent which can be accessed by train from London with a journey time of just over one hour. From here our site can be accessed by foot (10-15 minute walk). Alternatively, head to Tunbridge Wells where local taxi/minibus services can be booked for the short journey to the location of the event. Full travel details will be provided at the time of booking.
The event starts at 3.30pm with a guided foraging walk. Our in-house foraging expert Fern will lead guests on a guided walk through meadows full of wild flowers, forests full of wild deer and a river teaming with wildlife and fish. Along the way you will learn to identify some of the wild plants and fungi which will feature on the menu for the feast.
You will arrive at our dining table on the riverbank where you will be served arrival drinks and canapés inspired by the setting. Shortly afterwards the feast will begin. Fire & Wild will take you on a unique culinary journey as you dine on a multi-course tasting menu of seasonal wild food cooked over an open wood fire by the dining table. Our ‘plant-based’ menu option is suitable for vegetarians. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate vegans. Full menu details will be announced soon…
Wine from local vineyards will accompany each dish, presented by our in-house sommelier Ania. We will also be offering a special non-alcoholic menu of seasonal soft drinks and infusions such as kombucha. Bottled water will be provided free of charge.
The dining experience will end with wild cocktails and some time to relax around the campfire. If you are wishing to stay the night accommodation is available in comfortable bell tents . If you would like book accommodation please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with details of your requirements. To help you get going in the morning we’ll also be providing a breakfast hamper with fresh juices, coffee and pastries. See FAQ section for further information and travel information.
