Fire & Wild

Back to All Events

Join us on Saturday 22nd June for an afternoon of foraging and a fire-cooked feast followed by live music and wild cocktails by the campfire! Optional bed and breakfast accommodation will be provided in luxury canvas tipis and bell tents. This is the first of an exciting series of festival-style ‘feast and camp’ events co-hosted by Fire & Wild and White Stag Tipis which will take place this year.

We’ll be setting up our nomadic camp at a secret wild location in Mayfield, East Sussex, just outside Tunbridge Wells. The stunning hilltop location offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and is home to lots of wildlife including herds of wild fallow deer, rabbits and birds of prey.

Onsite parking will be provided for those making the journey by car. Tunbridge Wells can be reached by direct train from London in just over one hour. Local taxi services can be booked for the short trip from the station to our Mayfield location.

The event starts at 3.30pm with a guided foraging walk. Our in-house foraging expert will lead guests on a guided walk around the fields and forests surrounding our camp. Along the way you will learn to identify some of the wild plants and fungi which will feature on the menu for the feast.

Once you arrive back at camp we’ll be waiting with welcome drinks and canapés around the campfire. Shortly afterwards the feast will begin. Fire & Wild will take you on a unique culinary journey as you dine on a multi-course tasting menu of seasonal wild food cooked over an open wood fire by the dining table. Our ‘plant-based’ menu option is suitable for vegetarians. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate vegans.

Wine from local vineyards will accompany each dish, presented by our in-house sommelier. We will also be offering a special non-alcoholic menu of seasonal soft drinks and infusions such as kombucha. You are of course welcome to attend the event without choosing either of the drinks packages. Bottled water will be provided free of charge.

The dining experience will end with wild cocktails and some time to relax around the campfire.

Accommodation is available in luxury ‘boho-style’ tipis and bell tents. The bed and breakfast service includes access to all evening entertainment, a complimentary drinks bar - beers from Good Things Brewing Co, wine, wild cocktails and seasonal soft drinks. To help you get going in the morning we’ll also be serving up a fire-cooked breakfast included free of charge. Choose from a section of fresh juices, coffee and pastries provided by Flour Pot Bakery
